City advises of water supply disruption in Blouberg Ridge, Bloubergstrand, a portion of West Beach and Big Bay

13 January 2021

The City’s Water and Sanitation Department is currently attending to repairs of a burst 300mm diameter valve as well as a leak 150m further on the same water main feeding the Perlemoen pump station in Bloubergstrand. This will lead to water supply disruptions in Blouberg Ridge, Bloubergstrand, a portion of West Beach and Big Bay. Read more below:

The work is currently underway and is expected to be completed by 15:00. Until repairs are completed, the areas listed above are likely to experience low pressure, or possible total loss of supply.

Residents and businesses in these areas are advised to ensure that their taps are closed to ensure that they don’t incur any water loss or damage when the water supply is restored.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers.
